HEARTLAND SOCCER ASSOCIATION
FEBRUARY 2014
THE MIDFIELDER
      Heartland's Spring Tournaments

Registration has already closed for Border Battle.

Heartland Soccer Association's first spring tournament, the Border Battle will be played at the Overland Park Soccer Complex, February 28-March 2.  Registration for this tournament has already closed with 244 teams set to compete.

Most of the teams competing in the Border Battle tournament are local.  However, more than 50 of the teams competing are traveling from Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Wisconsin.  In addition, more than 40 of the teams participating in this pre-season tournament come from Kansas and Missouri, but more than two hours away from the soccer complex.

Kansas City Champions Cup registration
closes soon - March 10.

With about two weeks left until the registration deadline, the Champions Cup already has 271 teams registered.  About 65% of the teams hoping to compete are from out of town.  Teams have registered from Arkansas, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Wisconsin, and, of course, Kansas and Missouri.  One unusual fact - almost 80 of the teams signing up for the Champions Cup are from Minnesota.

With such strong interest in this tournament, a second playing location is likely to be added to the Overland Park Soccer Complex.  Tournament dates are April 11-13.

Kansas City Invitational deadline still two months away - April 28.

Despite the Kansas City Invitational deadline being more than two months away, 60 teams have already registered.  KCI will be played May 23-26.  Last year this tournament had 309 teams from 10 states.

The size of these tournaments allows teams to be seeded against others with very similar skill levels.  And the draw from multiple states allows for an opportunity for matches against teams never played before.

PARTNERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Heartland Soccer Association has been fortunate enough to build long-term partnerships with many local businesses. Being a non-profit organization, we are looking for more partners. We offer a variety of opportunities for businesses to prosper through the large and growing soccer community.

Heartland Soccer Association represents well over 1,100 teams and 18,000 youth soccer players. We would love to give you the opportunity to get your name out to the hundreds of thousands of families, friends and fans that create traffic through the Overland Park Soccer Complex and Heritage Soccer Park. We also hold seven tournaments a year that bring teams from all over the central United States. Our tournaments are some of the largest in the region.

We would like to give businesses the opportunity to reach out to this growing community and create a lasting partnership with us. If you would like to hear about all our opportunities during the spring season, please contact us.
