Overland Park and Olathe, Kan., Aug. 13, 2025 — Heartland Soccer Association, the largest youth soccer league and tournament host in the United States, is gearing up to welcome thousands of players, coaches and families for the Fall Kick Off Challenge taking place Aug. 15-17 at both the Scheels Overland Park Soccer Complex and Garmin Olathe Soccer Complex.
This early-season tournament has become a premier regional tournament, attracting more than 215 teams from six states. The large number of visiting teams and families is expected to generate an estimated $4.49 million in economic impact for the Kansas City area, supporting local hotels, restaurants and businesses.
“The Fall Kick Off Challenge brings together the best youth soccer talent in our region,” said Shane Hackett, executive director of Heartland Soccer Association. “We look forward to seeing familiar faces and welcoming new teams to experience the best youth soccer atmosphere in the Midwest.”
In partnership with VidSport, all matches played at the Garmin Olathe Soccer Complex will be livestreamed and available on demand. As the largest fixed AI camera network at any soccer-specific complex in the world, VidSport offers fans the ability to watch from any device and provides individual player highlights to support athlete development, recruitment and game analysis.

Following the Fall Kick Off Challenge, Heartland Soccer will host the Heartland Midwest Classic on Labor Day weekend, followed by the Midwest All Boys and Midwest All Girls Tournaments, attracting more than 700 teams.
