Heartland Soccer Association Announces Partnership with Sporting Lee’s Summit

Kansas City, Missouri – Heartland Soccer Association announces an expansion partnership with Sporting Lee’s Summit. Sporting Lee’s Summit, one of the largest youth soccer clubs in the state of Missouri, will play all of their competitive soccer teams in the Heartland Soccer league. In addition, Heartland will be scheduling games at Legacy Soccer Park in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.

Heartland Soccer Association is recognized as the largest soccer league across the entire United States. It currently programs league and tournament play at Scheels Overland Park Soccer Complex, Swope Soccer Village, and Heritage Soccer Park. Last season, a record number of 1,300 teams played in Heartland’s youth soccer league. Based on this exciting new partnership, Sporting Lee’s Summit projects that as many as 150 new competitive teams will join Heartland for the upcoming spring season. In addition, Sporting Lee’s Summit staff will join with Heartland Soccer to manage the on site league operations at Legacy Soccer Park, including referee and field marshal scheduling.

“This is a big step in the development and evolution of our soccer club,” explained Sporting Lee’s Summit Technical Director Zoran Savic. “Heartland is recognized nationwide as one of the top leagues in the United States. One of the many benefits we will realize is stronger competitive play for our teams. At Heartland, there is such a large number of teams playing in the league; as a result, teams at all ages and skill level will be competitively matched with numerous like teams. In fact for many age groups, Heartland offers nine or ten divisions. You simply cannot find the opportunity for this depth and breadth of competitive play anywhere else in the country. At Sporting Lee’s Summit, we are excited for this new partnership as it will facilitate our goals of developing players at all levels, helping them grow their skills, and seeing them commit to soccer as a life-long activity.”

“We are excited to partner with Sporting Lee’s Summit. This partnership will provide more kids with the opportunity to play on great quality fields and to continue to accommodate the fast-growing sport of soccer in Kansas City. Heartland has been programming youth soccer since 1977 in both Kansas and Missouri. The recent opening of Swope Soccer Village has allowed us to schedule even more games to serve our Missouri based teams and to allow for more kids to play on world-class turf fields,” said Shane Hackett, Executive Director of Heartland Soccer Association. “This partnership with Sporting Lee’s Summit allows us to continue to grow and serve more kids in the Kansas City area.”
