A RECORD BREAKING TOURNAMENT FOR HEARTLAND SOCCER ASSOCIATION

This weekend HSA will host the largest youth tournament to date in Kansas City

Overland Park, KS- This weekend, November 7-9th, Heartland Soccer Association (HSA) will host the boys weekend of the Verizon Heartland Invitational Tournament at the Overland Park Soccer Complex.

HSA is excited to announce that there will be 353 boys’ teams participating in the HIT tournament. This is a record not only for HSA, but will also mark the largest soccer tournament in Kansas City’s history held over a 2 day weekend. Last year’s tournament was also a record breaking year of 309 teams.

“This is an incredible weekend of youth soccer here in Kansas City. Each year we’ve seen record breaking attendance and this year is no exception,” stated Shane Hackett, Heartland Soccer Executive Director.

The tournament will bring in teams from 10 different states including Arkansas, Colorado, Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota and Texas.

“There’s no doubt that our town has become the preferred destination for youth soccer players and families across the Midwest. Over 5000 youth soccer players will participate in this tournament. With such a large number of teams competing, almost any team can play against competition that is similar in skill to their own and play in world class facilities,” says Hackett.

The first set of games will start at 5:00PM on Friday. On Saturday, games begin at 7:15AM and last games of the day will start at 9:15PM. On Sunday, games will start at 7:15AM and will end with award ceremonies throughout the afternoon and early evening. Overflow games will be played at Heritage Soccer Park in Olathe, Kansas.
